Player of the Year
|
| To determine the Player of the Year, Junior Golf America has decided to implement a point system for each of the events on the 2008 schedule.
Points will be awarded in the following manner: First place ............ 10 points Points will be added on a cumulative basis and the player with the most points in his/her division will be named the Player of the Year. Double points will be awarded for 2-day events. For example, first place for a 2-day event would be worth 20 points, second place receives 14, third place gets 10, fourth place yields 6 points and fifth place earns 4. In the event there is a tie, points will be split. For example, let's supposed two players tie for second place. In effect, they are occupying second and third place. Second place is worth 7 points and third place is worth 5, which equals 13. Therefore, each player would receive half of that amount (6 points). So, be sure to register to compete in as many tournaments as possible. The more events you play in, the better your chance is of earning points. Once the season begins, you will be able to follow the standings on a weekly basis. For more information, e-mail us at jrgolfamerica@aol.com or call (732) 683-9042. |
