Carrick Wins Second Junior Golf America Tourney In a Row
 
ENGLISHTOWN, NJ (May 3, 2008) – Corey Carrick of Howell, NJ maintained his dominance in Junior Golf America’s second tournament of the 2008 season this past Saturday at Sun Eagles Golf Club in Tinton, NJ. Golfers competed in multiple age brackets in both Masters and Players divisions, with Carrick leading the way in the Masters Division (16-18 year olds) with a score of 76. Pat Dileo of Manalapan came in right behind him for the second week in a row with a score of 77. Tom Martino of Farmingdale entered the leaderboard for the first time with a score of 82, earning him a third place finish.

In the Age 14-15 Bracket, Billy Fitzpatrick of Howell took the top seed with 87 strokes. Behind Fitzpatrick were Shane Kennedy (Pearl River, NY) with a score of 93 and Ryan Lee (Leonia, NJ) with 94.  Jack Horton of Princeton took first place in the Players 12-13 Division with a score of 92. Tying for second with 94 strokes were Jacob Gurock of West Windsor and Joey Iorio of Mountainside.  In the Age 10-11 Players Division golfers played nine holes, with Dawson Jones of Howell scoring 41 to win this bracket for the second week in a row. Daniel Cappo of Larchmont, NY took second with a score of 46. Benjamin Keller of New Providence, NJ and Sebastian Naibaho of Yonkers, NY tied in third place, each finishing with 50 strokes.

The Age 8-9 Players Division also played nine holes and was led by Sean Andrew Yi of Montclair, NJ with a score of 42. Last week’s winner, Tej Singh of Marlboro, came in a close second with 43 strokes. Tied for third with scores of 44 were Lucas Artigliere of Madison and Tyler Hechtle of Millstone.

Junior Golf America, with presenting sponsorship from Toyota-Lexus Eastern Division, is the largest junior golf organization in the Northeast serving New Jersey and New York. Junior Golf America, now in its ninth year, offers over 50 tournaments throughout the season at the state’s top private and public courses.

Carrick Leads the Pack at Junior Golf America’s Opening Tourney
 
ENGLISHTOWN, NJ (April 27, 2008) – Corey Carrick of Howell, NJ outdueled the competition to take Junior Golf America’s 2008 season opening tournament this past Sunday at Sea Oaks Golf Club in Little Egg Harbor Twp. On the cold and windy Spring day, golfers competed in multiple age brackets in both Masters and Players divisions, with Carrick leading the way in the  Masters Division (16-18 year olds) with a score of 79. Right behind him were Pat Dileo, Manalapan, and Nick Miller, Cedar Grove, both with 83 strokes. Kelsi Kavanagh of Point Pleasant led the girls in this division with a score of 87.

Robert Anderson of Staten Island, NY came in first in the Masters Age 14-15 bracket with a score of 92, followed by Jonathan Szu-Han Chen, of Basking Ridge, with 93 strokes.  Leading the pack in the Players 14-15 Division was Billy Fitzpatrick of Howell, with a score of 88. Michael Diorio of Wayne placed second with 91 and Brandon Lebental of Livingston took a close third with 93.  Hana Ku of Basking Ridge took first among the Players 12-13 Division with 90 strokes, while Justin Zheng, Princeton, kept close behind with a 91 for the day. Alice Chen of Princeton placed third with a score of 93.  

In the Age 10-11 Players Division, golfers played nine holes with Dawson Jones of Howell coming in first place with a 37. Nicholas Infanti of Annapolis, MD placed second with a 40. Earning a close third place finish, Jonathan Lee of Westfield scored a 41.  The Age 8-9 Players Division also played nine holes and was led by Tej Singh of Marlboro, scoring 43. Tied for second were Anina Ku of Basking Ridge and Hunter Tuite of Wilmington, DE each finishing with 49 strokes.
